Hiring Machinist

We are looking to add another highly valued member to the Machining Division of our family-run engineering company. This Workshop is closely partnered with our hydraulic department, and is heavily supported by our drawing office, working together we manufacture a range of hydraulic devices for varied customers across the globe, from local small businesses to some of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy-duty equipment. Designing, manufacturing building, testing, and painting our own equipment before sending it out into operation.

Role Details -

  • 40-hour work week + overtime
  • 08:00 - 16:30
  • Overtime outside of working hours paid at x1.5 hourly
  • Overtime on Sundays Paid at x2 hourly
  • Overtime on bank holidays paid at x3 hourly
  • Average holiday pay across the year
  • Enhanced holidays for loyalty, 1 every 2 years 5 days total
  • Annual £1,000 bonus

Requirements -

  • NVQ Level 3 or Above
  • Experience in both Milling and Lathe operations
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of imperial and metric measurements
  • Be able to use and identify measuring equipment to verify your own product
  • Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be detail-oriented, flexible and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings
  • Experience of working in a quality detailed high precision right first time manufacturing environment.
  • Working to tight tolerances 0.03mm
  • Screw cutting experience

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience in XYZ Proturn/mill Programming
  • 3 years of milling and lathe Machining Experience
  • Working in a high-production engineering environment
  • Manufacturing of hydraulic components
  • Further education in engineer
  • Flexible skills across a range of engineering disciplines
For candidates who do not meet these requirements, exemptions will be made for strong character, work ethic, and references. Training will be provided as it is for all our engineers.
