Forklift Mechanic/Fitter! 

We are looking for a long-term Forklift Mechanic to join our tightly-knit, family-run business, which holds value in every employee that works towards both their own and the company’s goals. Our company specializes in the design, manufacture, modification, and repair of a wide range of heavy material handling equipment, for companies within the UK and across Globe. With our expertise and knowledge, we provide a bespoke material handling service like no other, working alongside all WRS’s engineering departments, we research, design, and modify/manufacture bespoke lifting equipment to best fulfill the world's need for innovation, and implementation of new and repurposed lifting equipment.

Your duties and responsibilities will include.

  • Working with Schematic drawings and machine manuals
  • Diagnosing and identifying machine faults during machine inspections
  • Maintenance of the mechanic workshop, including communal tooling, workshop machinery, and equipment,
  • Management of workshop consumables and general equipment
  • The mechanical shops open and shut down procedure
  • you will be required to;
  • Be an effective team player
  • Plan your own work methods, prioritizing safety, job completions times, and quality product
  • Manage own workload
  • Complete an accurate timesheet
  • Adder to all rules, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability and knowledge
  • Be able to mechanical power tools and general workshop machinery
  • Be able to effectively operate forklifts and heavy handling equipment
  • understand mechanics
  • Be able to take service and faulty parts, identify them and refit new/repaired
  • Be able to work offsite using minimal equipment, utilizing own innovative in fitter’s van
  • Be able to use a range of grinding equipment
  • Preferred ability and knowledge
  • Able to electrically repair plant equipment
  • Have other transferable skills across our engineering departments
  • What we offer
  • £15.50 P/H
  • 40 hour weeks, + Overtime
  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 16:30
  • Average holiday pay,
  • Enhanced holidays for loyalty, 1 every 2 years 5 days total
  • Annual £1,000 bonus
  • £32,240.00 - £50,375.00 with overtime
  • Training in every department
  • Flexible work week when required
  • for candidates who do not yet meet these standards, training and development will be implemented before full wage can be offered.
